What does your 9mo day look like?!

My ds is 9mo and we do blw he eats very little but I try not to care how much etc etc! My very unhelpful hv was quite mean and obviously against the concept and told me I give him too much milk, he's bf, and he won't ever learn. She was harsh in lots of ways and generally was an awful appointment leaving me feeling a bit of a failiure. My ds is happy, healthy and perfect but she has got me questioning myself.
We wake at 7ish and he has a large bf
at around 8.30 we have toast/ porrige/ cereal etc but he eats maybe 2 tea spoonfulls worth of whatever.
at around 10 he feeds to sleep, wakes at 11.
12 we have lunch where he eats maybe 1/4 slice of breads worth of food including cheese meat yogurt veg,
then quick bf
I give him a snack at 3, raisins maybe 5 and 1/2 breadstick to squash into the carpet
at 4 another bf
dinner at 6 where he eats the most maybe 3 table spoons worth of food. And few mouthfuls yogurt and fruit.
7.30 bedtime and large bf. Then usually no milk until morning.
He eats very little but tries everything which I thought was the idea, but now I'm worried, what dies your day look like?

He's doing fine. I take it he isn't underweight and you're trying a variety of food and textures? Yes? Fine!

Dd is 14m but at that age she was pretty much the same as what you're doing apart from breakfast 1st thing rather than milk and water in pm with snack.

I think he's doing fine too. DD1 at that age was on 4 or 5 bfs a day and ate bits and pieces of food. What exactly does the HV expect you to do? has she tried forcing a baby to eat more?

I'm no expert but sounds fine to me. My 9mo's appetite has increased dramatically in past week or two, here's what she has now:

5.30-6.30: wakes and bf
7-8: breakfast, 1 weetabix/porridge fingers followed by fruit (at least half a pears worth)
9-10.30: if I'm lucky, she'll nap
10.30-11: snack (5-6 grapes, wee box raisins, few cheese sticks or veg sticks)
12-12.30: lunch, I try to make this main meal of day. A portion (one of those weaning cubes) meat/fish with veg, followed by more fruit/yoghurt/jar of something dessert like
1-2.30: fingers crossed she's sleeping for at least part of this
3-3.30: 5-7oz formula
5: tea, usually lentil bake/pasta/rice dish, one cubes worth followed by fruit/yoghurt
6.30: 5-7 oz formula

Hope that helps.

Thanks, he is exactly average for weight, and full of beans. She actually was suggesting I 'make' him eat more. Weetabix at bedtime seemed to be her big suggestion even though he sleeps all night on milk. She seemed quite keen to get him off breastfeeding as I was making work for myself. I think I need to forget everything she said and just look at him. My confidence is just so easily rocked.

You could try offering food before milk if you're keen to get him eating more. Our routine with a 9 month old looks like this:

7ish - breakfast (normally cereal)
9ish - bf
12ish - lunch (meat, veg, some carbs, a yoghurt and/or fruit)
2ish - bf
5ish - dinner (something on toast usually)
7ish - bf and to bed.

I had problems getting my dd to eat before I reduced the number of bfs, and this is working well for us. But obviously everyone's different!
