At 7 months can start introducing protiens - chicken and fish etc as well as pasta and dairy products. Ds used to love chicken and veg etc. Also I would make the fruit later to sort of 4ish and perhaps alternate it with yoghurt then introduce fruit/cereal for breakfast at 8ish so she is on 3 meals a day. I didn't decrease Ds milk until he seemed to lose interest in one of the bottles, which was when he went to 3 meals.

I quite quickly introduced elements of what I was eating, so stuff like mashed potato with gravy on it, chicken (very very tiny pieces), pasta with neapolitan sauce, and quite soon with bolognese, wizzed up a bit in the blender (but only a bit, otherwise you get the prob that they won't eat lumpy food). My favourite used to be to make an omlette at lunch time, and share it (depends on your view of eggs, but ds survived).

Basically I introduced grown up food, in mashed down form very quickly. Ds used to love little chunks of croissant and jam for sunday breakfast. And of course varieties of yoghurt and fromage fraise.

me23 might not be a bad idea to ask for an appointment with a dietician for some decent advice. I followed Gina Ford's weaning advice and found it pretty good. Just introduce a new food at 11ish every three days, after a few days introduce say baby rice and fruit puree at 5pm. Introduce breakfast once they're hungry well before 11am. Start off with most of the milk first at 11-12, but gradually offer a bit of milk then food then milk etc, dropping the lunchtime milk when protein established at lunch. Introduce breakfast in a similar manner (eg baby porridge and fruit), but keep that milk bottle going.
Start with purees and gradually make the food more lumpy. At lunchtime would assume a few ice cubes of veg puree plus sweet potato, pasta or couscous plus milk would be fine. You might want to try avocados, peas, lentils, yoghurt quite soon? I think??? you may need to watch VitD intake if vegetarian - ask gp?
All the best.

My DD is nearly 7m and have been weaning for a few weeks. She has mainly finger foods such as ricecake, sandwiches, fruit and veg sticks, but sometimes accepts yoghurt, fruit purees, a little bit of cereal. I guess you need to try her with some lumpier purees, but she might take to finger foods well, just be on hand in case of choking. Things like cauliflower cheese whizz down well but you can leave a few lumps in.

After initally giving solids just after milk (bf) I now tend to keep them seperate so it is bf on waking, breakfast an hour later, mid-morning bf, lunch, mid afternoon bf, tea, bedtime bottle. This seems to work out well though I feel like I spend all day feeding her as the solids take so long. I'm sure it will improve and the breastfeeding sessions are a bit quicker, so I imagine she is taking a bit less.

Me22 - I had same trouble, I struggled for ages over what to give and how much and when etc.
I've settled with this:

Breakfast 7am : Weetabix / Readybrek mixed with 5oz formula, whatever formula doesnt get used on cereal goes in a cup and she drinks it
Midmorning 11am : 7oz bottle
Lunch 1:30 : Veg puree / stew puree etc
Afternoon : 7oz bottle
Tea : Fruit puree / rusk soaked in formula
Bedtime : 7oz bottle

A 7 month old needs a pint of milk a day, if u give 3 bottles of 7oz that makes approx a pint. Feeds are spread out enough so that the baby is hungry enough for each and if she leaves some milk in a bottle it's no harm cos she's had extra on cereal or rusk etc.

Hope this helps, I know the frustration of not knowing what you are doing all too well! I stressed and struggled for 3 months until I managed to get a routine working (all gone tits up now tho cos of teething but we'll get it back!!)
