Weaning and Traveling

Hello everyone, I am doing combination weaning with my 6 month old (both homemade purees and finger foods). We have a lot of traveling coming up: road trips, city breaks, etc, and I'm looking for some advice on the best way to transport food. For the purees, should I just take some cubes in a container, and hopefully it will have defrosted by the time they are ready to eat, or should the purees always remain cool, in a cooler bag, and then do we search for a microwave? Or should I just buy the jars for this purpose? And for finger foods, do we just carry around with us ripe bananas and pears, or look for things on menus that we could get and share with baby?
Also, should I be concerned about sterilising pots/spoons, etc, when out and about?
Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For the purees I would probably take jars. A lot less faffing for you. Also defrosted purees need to be eaten within 24 hours.

Alternatively your LO could just share what you eat - but I understand you may not want to do this if you're not preparing the food yourself (salt etc).
There are loads of finger foods which you could take like muffins, scones, etc that will keep well in a coolbag.

You don't need to sterilise weaning equipment over 6mo. Hot, soapy water will do the job fine!

I love the ellas kitchen sachets as they are squashabale and you can just squeeze them onto the spoon and then throw in the rubbish. Much lighter and less bulky than jars

Thanks for the suggestions, taking jars/sachets does sound like the best thing to do. I had so far only fed DD homemade purees, but when traveling I guess its best to take the easy route, less stress on all of us!

My DD is a year now but I pretty much only fed homemade purées unless we were travelling. Needs must when travelling though so pouches were the way to go for us.
And pouches are easy for suitcases.
