bannana on toast

bobbybobbobbingalong · 28/12/2005 07:59

She can have jam if you pick a nice one thats just fruit and sugar. But she will probably just love toast on it's own.

nowanearlyNicemum · 28/12/2005 08:05

if you could squeeze just a little more into your freezer then I'd say make it yourself as soup has got to be THE easiest thing ever. But I do know what you mean about having little space in the freezer. I have no idea about brands of baby soups in the UK.....maybe someone else could advise.

Auntybrandybutter · 29/12/2005 09:49

just look out for lower salt ones. But as long as its not everyday I am sure you will be ok!
Mine love baked beans I get the low suger salt ones

Bozza · 29/12/2005 10:12

7 months sounds a bit young to be putting her on convenience foods everyday IMO. Maybe tinned beans/soup etc once or twice a week. Otherwise what about scrambled eggs/cream cheese on toast? You could give her two lots of frozen mush without a problem.. Cauliflower cheese? Pasta? What about what you eating? Cooked veggies as finger food?

Auntybrandybutter · 29/12/2005 10:21

asda do a range of ready cooked kids meals with contolled salt etc..freezer space though!! Although some a fride freindly!! Also do a nice vege ravioli in a tin

LIZS · 29/12/2005 10:21

You could equally freeze "quick" meals such as cheese or tomato based pasta sauces, cauliflower cheese etc which you could serve with dried pasta shapes. Or keep the veg from your previous meal (ie. do a bit too much), keep in fridge and mush that into a soup next day with a some hot water. dd loved scrambled egg with toast and fluffy jacket potato mashed with tuna, cheese etc. I'd avoid the "ready to serve" type tins as they are higher in salt and sugar/sweeteners than is necessary at this age.

Bozza · 29/12/2005 10:38

You can microwave jacket potatoes and remove the skins and mash as Lizs suggests.

Auntybrandybutter - Just check the ingredients of the low sugar beans as some contain Aspartame. Which is probably the last thing you would want to feed your child.

Auntybrandybutter · 29/12/2005 13:54

is that bad

fisiltoe · 29/12/2005 13:57

Ds2 is also 7 months. I don't differentiate between lunch and tea for him. I do massive batches of cubes of food (spag bog, lentils, chicken, veg, fruit etc.) and he just gets that at every meal. He will usually get what we're having if we're eating at home for lunch.

DanceOfThePeachyPlumFairy · 29/12/2005 14:57

Mine have liked sardine fishcakes (just sardines and mash, made into patties), cheesy mash, avocado and banana (yeah I know but they all ate it), pulse type beans (tinned, no salt) mixed with cooked veg and tomato with rice; egg fried rice (home made), tuna and sweetcorn mini omelettes

Furball · 29/12/2005 20:02

auntybrandybutter - Here and also Here
