hi, there are loads of recipes on the Annabel Karmel website that are fairly easy like this one

SenoraPartridgeinaPearTree · 27/12/2005 19:46

I used to basicaly stick with the purreed veg, but add things like lentils, oil, pasta, potatoes and butter to some of them. I added little bits of leftover cooked meat from about 9 months but there is no need to get them eating loads of meat really young. taste as you make the puree - you don't have to actually cook the stuff properly

thankyou for the replies, is it worth buying the annabel karmel book? also what veg purees go well together? ds only really like potato and broccoli anything else i try he puts up a fight and i have to bribe him with milk.
thank you

carrot, potato and any other veg was the favourite in our house. You can either make in batches and freeze them mixed up, or make one veg at a time, freeze in ice cubes and then mix as you reheat (I used to do both).

have a look at the annabel karmel book in a bookshop - I think it's way too complicated, but you might not.

cauliflower cheese went down a storm here - thicken formula with a bit of cornflour, add cheese and mix some mashed steamed cauliflower in it. Can't get much easier than that and great for freezing in small batches.

You could also try him on a risotto type dish - my DS loved them, especially with smoked mackerel! just make sure you overcook the rice so its nice and soggy - makes it easier to mash.

You can puree either of these, but a fave puree was butternut squash and pear mix. It really does taste lovely!
