Is feta too salty for a one-year-old?

I made some roast veg with feta cheese and pureed it up for my one-year-old. But then didn't serve it because I wondered if feta is too salty. I don't add any salt to her food otherwise or give her prepared food with salt in... in general what are the recommendations on salt at her age?

1g a day I believe - I wouldn't give feta personally until over 2 and then only in small amounts

It is 1g below 1 and 2g when they are one. If you don't give her anything else containing salt that day (e.g. bread) she's unlikely to go over the limit.

It is very hard really to say whether she will exceed the limit unless you know what she is eating. When my kids were little I aimed for 1g knwoing that they would exceed that in all likelihood.
It sounds like she is on pureed foods so probably not eating breakfast cereal , bread. The problem is with salty foods like feta is that they introduce a taste that you can become used to and expect. There is enough salt in processed foods that don't taste salty for our needs why add something deliberately salty.

Thank you! I have followed your advice. (I ate it myself. It was delicious, although I preferred it unpureed.) she has just started eating soft bread though I still puree up things that are very lumpy as she only has one tooth. :)
