walnut traces?

ds is nearly 7mo and we've been weaning him since last week. Up till now it's just been carrot at lunch as finger food. Anyway, today dh did us baked apple for lunch - just apple with walnuts in the middle. ds showed an interest so dh gave him some pieces of his apple (no peel, no walnut pieces obviously) and ds loved it. Now I'm a bit concerned, if there were any walnut traces on the apple, could ths be a potential allergy trigger? TIA.

are there peanut allergies in the family? If not I wouldn't be too worried, it was only a bit wasn't it

According to the Babycentre website - if there is no history of allergic diseases e.g. asthma, eczema or allergies to foods then you can give ground nuts and nut spreads, including peanut butter, from six months old.

Your baby may be at higher risk if you, your baby's father, brothers or sisters have certain allergic conditions such as hayfever, asthma and/or eczema.

If your baby is in this higher-risk group, avoid eating peanuts and peanut products while breastfeeding and during the introduction of solid foods. Until the child is at least three years old, peanuts and peanut products should be avoided.

Whole nuts should be avoided until the age of 5 due to the risk of choking.

no peanut allergies, but allergic disease (me = asthma, dh = funny rash thing he only gets on his hands once in a blue moon, medical mystery).
Thanks
