Hi guys. I'm having trouble finding reliable sites that list the negatives of baby food jars vs home made food. I'm looking for sites such as NHS, World Health Organisation, etc.

Can anyone help?

Why do you want to know about nagatives of jars? Sometimes its really hard to home cook all the time. We are only human! There is a new type of baby food that has just come out, it is totally different from jars as its frozen so it hasnt been heated to really high temps to keep it preserved. It tastes like real food and is preserved only by freezing like the way we preserve when we home cook. It's called 'Babylicious' if you google it they have a website with some information about why not jars or pouches. Hope that helps, don't feel guilty if you can't always cook hon there are some alternatives. : )

I doubt you will find any actual authority talking about this as baby food in jars etc. is not packed with loads of additives, salt and sugar, like 'adult' ready meals are. Most of it is pretty much what it says on the jar. So I don't think you will find what you are looking for to be honest.

the weaning booklet we got (Fun First Foods, I think it was called, from NHS Scotland) talks about the negatives being that they're expensive, and it may be hard to get baby to take lumpier food down the line because they're of a general consistency. Does that help?
