dd ia 7m and we started at about 18weeks with couple spoonful baby rice. now she has 3 times a meal, cereal or porridge in the morning, fruit or pudding for lunch, veg(very little) followed by 2pots of yougurts.
she is very fussy about food, and loves fruit and yougurt. she eats a little of home-made meal or veg, savoury( with my great patience)
so we have organic jars most of the time, but does have occasional mix food.
on monday i had this booklet from heinz that stage 2 weaning, about lumpy food.
im worried to try anything limpy, cause she chokked couple times recently which scared me out,i wonder how another mums do? what is the best way? or is it too early to try it?
being 1st time mum, i seems to do wrong mos of the times. i even tried follow on milk, because it advertise to be used after 6m, which made dd`s tummy ache. any advice appreciated.thnx

I think as far as the lumps are concerned you just have to be brave and see how she manages. She could start with stewed rather than pureed fruit maybe but since she is less keen on the veg keep that smooth for the time being. You could also try her with finger food - cooked veg, rice cakes, toast without the crust, slices of ripe pear etc.

I would wait a little if she is a fussy eater. I would start finger foods so that she gets used to different textures. With my dd who did not like the lumps in the 7 month jars I would have some lumpy food alongside a strained puree and would put a tiny amount on a spoon with the strained stuff. Eventually she got used to it and now eats anything (13 months)

There's no rush to do it. Try a little bit of mashed food, rather than puree, see if she'll eat it. if not, leave it a week or so.
Follow o milk is not necessary really, though I may be wrong. I didn't ever use it, IIRC.

Or you could try mashed potato with a bit of very soft carrot finely chopped in it, or yoghurt with mashed pear in.
