Stock cubes

I'm just getting ready to start weaning DS & am planning on just giving him whatever has been cooked for myself & DP. After browsing the baby food aisle I noticed you can buy special stock cubes for cooking for baby. I can only assume they're low salt ones.

Do I need to buy something like this (they seem quite expensive) or can I use normal low salt stock? Or should I just avoid using it all together (I definitely won't be making my own I know that much).

Yes, they are low salt ones. I bought when we started out weaning DD, but wouldn't bother next time around. We did BLW, so were all eating the same thing, and the Boots Chicken ones were just rubbish. Used the 2 packs I bought and went back to normal stock cubes.

1 stock cube divided by 2 adults, and a teeny portion for a new weaner really isn't enough salt to worry about IMO.

Not sure but you could compare the salt content of the adult low salt ones or the baby ones. I bet the baby ones have more salt!
