I was given a couple of long sleeved bibs and I clearly need loads more! DD is enjoying sucking on oranges and the stains are not coming out.

Looking for some affordable bibs if you can advise please? Thank you

John Lewis, but I got them in the sale for £3 a pair. Not sure I'd pay full price. I need more though... Had no idea weaning would be so messy

I got some in Poundland. Worth a look!

TittyBojangles · 20/05/2011 17:51

Am I the only one not bothering with bibs? Just strip DS down to his vest and then change that if nec, I find bibs get in the way.

Pedallleur · 21/05/2011 10:08

Poundland. Also having baby eating wearing nappy and/or vest only, is good - especially at breakfast time, or before a bath, when you'll be getting them undressed/dressed anyway.

Grumpla · 21/05/2011 10:10

IKEA has nice bright ones.

MooM00 · 21/05/2011 10:25

Sainsbos, in the baby food section and cheaper ones in the TU clothing. I think the TU ones are a bit smaller (fit dc3 age 10m).

ruthsmumkath · 21/05/2011 13:44

Got some at Tesco about £3 but def worth it!

estya · 21/05/2011 20:53

wrt ruined clothes, have you tried hanging them in the sun?
I didn't quite believe when i was told it, but a day in direct sunlight yesterday and the tops are like new.

RitaMorgan · 21/05/2011 20:57

I use Poundland ones too.

HarrietJones · 21/05/2011 20:58

Supermarkets & ikea'

LakeFlyPie · 21/05/2011 21:01

I got some good ones from Matalan, terry towelling (with plastic backing in the front bib bit) so don't get as bunched up as the more plasticy ones.

colditz · 21/05/2011 21:02

Strip child to nappy.

missmakesstuff · 21/05/2011 21:02

Poundland, they are great for painting too. I just need to find some extra long ones, for when DD hides food in her lap. Think shes all clean, then lift her up and its all hidden away! I also strip her down if she is eating spag bol or something equally messy.

thesurgeonsmate · 21/05/2011 21:03

My Sainsbury and Tesco ones haven't washed well - we only dine out in public in John Lewis. I've seen people using wipe clean ones, but for me that seems like more rather than less effort than washing, given how much washing is going on anyway.

ChippingIn · 21/05/2011 21:03

I think they should eat sitting in the bath or in a paddling pool - tis the only way Grin

We have a mixture - I like the very soft plastic ones with the cotton edging that can be washed and hung up, they're dry by the next meal. I have having cloth bibs with stains all over them (which we do as well).

LovingKent · 24/05/2011 17:29

IKEA £3.05 for 2. Still going strong a year later (DS 16 months). However when we started last summer I stripped him off and he ate just in a nappy Grin
