12 month immunisations and appetite

Hi,

Not sure if this would be better in another section but...

My dd is 12 months old and got her 12 month immunisations 9 days ago (includes mmr). Since then her appetite has gone. She usually eats pretty well and has 4 meals per day and one snack. Not huge portions but a decent amount and lots of veg. We do a combo of spoon feeding and finger foods.

Has anyone else noticed any appetite changes after these jags or do you think this is the start of difficult times and a fussy toddler. I have tried tempting my dd with favourites to no avail. she isn't breastfeeding any more than usual...mostly in morning and at bedtime with occasional feed during the day and during night.

Any advice would be really appreciated :)

Sorry to respond with speculation only but my DD will get her MMR etc tomorrow and I wouldn't be suprised with an appetite drop. She seems to have an appetite that is very sensitive to being even slightly under the weather and as vaccinations can cause mild temperature rises I pretty much expect it. I had a week of virtually no eating and no increase in milk intake due to a cold a few weeks ago which was horrible. I posted on here and was given the advice that she would get over it and probably eat double the next week- which she duely did! I hope your DD bounces back and does the same.

Yes. I had this with dc1 and 2 about 10 days after the MMR. The thing is to get through it without allowing fussy eating. I just gave a smaller portion(sometimes miniscule) and then allowed them to fill up with yoghurt if they wanted to, then made the portion bigger when they were feeling better.I'm not certain that the mmr causes it or if it is an age related thing as it didn't happen after the next mmr jab when they were 3.5.
