BLWers - did your DCs go through fussy period / lack of interest in food?

DS (8.5 months) started off enthusiastically with food but for the last 3 weeks or so has shown little interest in food except for milk based foods (yoghurt, cheese etc).

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, did you do anything about it, or just ride it out?

Thanks!

www.babyledweaning.com/2006/now-she-gets-to-have-an-opinion-dammit/ i wrote this yonks ago about dd1, it's perfectly normal... at the end of the day however you wean them they're still little gits kids. Wink

Yes, at about 10 months, I just rode it out and gave him lots of milk.

Yes. It often correlates with the run-up to developmental spurts, which happen at around 37, 46 and 55 weeks.

DS only wanted cream cheese & breadsticks. I just let him eat that and he went back to normal. Until he hit the fussy no vegetables, no potatoes, no fish phase shortly after his first birthday, that was (we're emerging now at 15 months).

He also did it when teething.

Thanks all. AngelDog - hello, I remember being an avid reader of one of your sleep threads! I think (hope) my DS is working on a developmental spurt, as his sleep (never good) is all over the place at the moment.

Ok, I will carry on. I was just a bit concerned that babies should not be having loads of dairy either.

Aitch - thanks for the link.

Yes, sounds like the 8/9 month sleep regression (word of warning: it often blends into the 11 month one Hmm). More info here, here and here if you're interested.

DS got easier sleep-wise after that though, although the frequent waking continued. I was trying to find the right time to use some NCSS ideas again but never managed it due to colds / teething / changing napping pattern etc. However, at about 14 months he suddenly started waking just once (once! :)) a night for a quick nappy change (before my bedtime too Grin) with no input from me at all. Developmental spurts, overtiredness etc all mess things up, but he keeps reverting to just that one waking, which is wonderful.

I like to tell people as it's nice to offer a bit of hope. :)
