dont think it would do any harm but it might be a bit rich for her so it might make her sick
Dot it without the butter cos they should get used to plain tastes anyway

I don't think its necessary personally to get used to veg without butter! Also afaik Adding a small amount of butter or oil to carrots actually makes them more nutritious as betacarotene (the veg form of vitamin A) is fat soluble so the butter makes the body more able to absorb the vitamin.
I weaned dd at 6months and went straight onto stuff like this. Did ds at four months and he was eating all sorts by 23 weeks - not that I recommend that though.

My HV told me to put butter (not marg) in all the mashed veg I gave my ds. He was v skinny though.

I would give a first food in between somewhere, or an hour after a milk feed.

I don't know about the babyrice, but if you have put the spoon in her mouth, then back in the bowl, it may be the enzymes in her saliva dissolvijng the carbohydrates in the rice....

I think if you are adding butter you should make sure it doesn't have salt added. I think 'can't believe its not butter' would have salt and other additives.

I've been told ot add fat to veggies for the fat soluble vitamins A, D and E.

On the other questions - baby rice, no idea. I usually feed DS in between the milk feeds, otherwise he wouldn't be hungry enough to eat anything or have the second half of the milk feed, but he is a bit older (8months) and was I think when I started weaning him
