I think there are lots of different answers! DD had peanut butter from around 9 months, but I ate it during pregnancy & while breastfeeding so I thought that might make a difference. Dunno if it did! She does love it though.

Oh heavens I had no idea it was a limited food. DS has been eating it since we started BLW around 26 weeks... He loves it!
But, as iskra said, I ate so much peanut stuff when pregnant (and am still breastfeeding) that I think DS is about 85% peanut, at least.

I gave it to both mine at 9 months (ish) on toast - they loved it.

it is ok from 6 months. Whole nuts shouldnt be given before age 5 as it is a choking risk.

Peanuts during pregnancy, breastfeeding and early childhood

I dont actually know the reason why they say not to give it, ds nicked a bit of my toast this morning with it on and loved it, and as a picky eater would be great to have a extra option for him. Just vaguely remember not being allowed to give it so thought i'd ask the knowledgeable world of MN!
