Just realised Petits Filous has sugar in...doh. Problem?

Dd is nearly 8 mo and baby led weaning. Just realised petits filous has sugar in (I thought they were naturally sweetened in my defence)...she has a whole one for breakfast. It's the only thing she'll let me near her with with a spoon...now I know why!

Is this a problem and what are the alternatives?

Thanks!

I wondered about this, but I went for petit filous because they were the smallest portion pots I could find and I didn't want loads of wastage. I mostly have soya yoghurt/milk because too much dairy upsets my tummy, so buying a big tub of normal 'adult' yoghurt would be a big waste for us.

Or am I just being tight? Maybe I'll have a better look around and price compare next time I'm in the supermarket.

DD loves it, and doesn't have it every day (or any other sugary things) so I figured it was ok... Confused

I would rather real sugar than an artifical sweetener, I think I just assumed they used fruit as the sweetener. She has one every day for breakfast along with fruit and some toast, so will finish the pack and then try something new I think.

Thanks all!

I give DD the Rachel's ones and she goes bonkers for them. Apart from the mango one. She never finishes that one.

We started on Little Stars, but she came up all blotchy after every one, and had a ridiculously hyper half hour. I could only put it down to them having more refined sugar in them. Either that or she has some bizarre reaction to beetroot juice which is another one of the ingredients Confused

Meant to ask, while we're on the subject, what is fromage frais? Again, Confused Blush

But they do have quite a massive amount of refined sugar in each pot, about two teaspoons.
Although I'm not worried about my DD having a "sweet tooth" (she already loves sweet things anyway), I just think, I wouldn't spoon 2 spoons of sugar into her mouth, especially given that the recommended maximum amount for a whole day is only 4 teaspoons.

Some of the Little Yeos have only naturally occurring sugars (i.e. no added sugar on top of what appears in the fruit puree) and some of the Rachel's Organics are the same (but you do need to check the packet). As far as I know, the Plum fromage frais don't have any added refined sugar either.

We used to spoon out about half a large pot for DD and put the rest back in the fridge, to avoid wasting it - it was always fine!

Give the Rachel's organic ones a try (called "my first yogurts" or something similar). They are flipping delicious - obviously they have sugar from the fruit but I think that's it.

DancingThroughLife We had problems with Little Stars too - tears, screaming, and vomiting (only thing that made him throw up!)

Eek Jareth Shock Amazing what a little tiny yoghurt can do.
