Hi, my DS is 24 weeks old and I am starting to wean him ( he is definitely ready and have discussed with HV and GP).
He has had a couple of days of baby rice and today has had a small amount of pureed butternut squash which he enjoyed. Should I give him the same tomorrow, or should I try introducing another vegetable eg carrot? I am BF on demand and at present only giving small amounts of food at lunchtime, will build up over nxt couple of weeks.
Can I also ask about baby cereals? I find baby rice a bit fiddly as have to express to add milk to it....I saw Hipps porridge in supermarket where I just need to add water....is it worth getting this, or waiting til 6 months and giving weetabix or normal porridge oats for breakfast? Thanks.

It's totally up to you really - just do what you feel comfortable with. Some people like to introduce a new food every few days, some let them have a range of things from the start.

I never used baby rice, just gave weetabix or readybrek, sometimes baby porridge too if it's on offer. I started at 22 weeks and ds just had bits off my plate, so he had all kinds of things.
