fruit or veg first - does it matter?

a friend recommended going with carrot first to avoid little tykes getting hooked on sweet stuff. piffle or not? i have pureed pear ready to go in my wee ice cube jobbies - am rather excited about using one tomorrow (probably far more excited than ds will be) but will nip out and get carrots if the concensus is that would be best...

I went with banana first -- neither of them will eat it now though

I don't think it matters what order as long as you introduce a variety over the first few weeks.

i thought the wisdon was to strat on baby rice? i could be out of date...

it is exciting seeing them taste food for 1st rime! I took a photo!
I went with avocado first, pear next, carrot 3rd, if I remember correctly...and banana.
the quantities will be v small in first few days, do try tiny bits of various things

I never used baby rice much really - hard to get sugar-free in France, I found

I did baby rice first - -banana was the first proper food

goody, sounds as though pear will be OK. will go for a veggie next. am already 3 days into baby rice so happy that we can progress into something a little more exciting (and worthy of a kodak moment ).

what do you reckon - is 3 days of each enough to check for reactions?

I never though to check for reactions

I started with banana which dd couldn't eat quick enough. I then tried veg, then apple and pear. I had to mix the fruit with some rusk/baby rice as dd found it too sharp - even with a sweet variety of apple. She eats anything you put in her mouth. She doesn't really have a preference.
