Hi,

We're looking for a travel highchair and wondered if these are any good? They look flimsy but surely they're ok? On this website it says from 8 months up, on the box it says 6 months - 30 months!

Thanks

I've not tried the Grobag one but we have the Totseat and it is brilliant. It fits over the back of any chair and also comes with a cummerbund to use as a support if the chair doesn't have much support in the lower back. My DS loves it, he sits in it better than a highchair if we are out and about - I think he likes being the same as everyone else. It is really supportive though but a bit more expensive than the Grobag.

Thanks, anyone else?

Me and a friend both use the Mothercare (green) booster chair, it can be used safely on a normal chair or on the ground which is great for picnics etc. I also have a different type of grobag chair, can't remember the name at the moment, which we used when camping. I'd recommend both types to anyone - hope this helps!

We have one but don't use it. It is much too flimsy to adequately restrain our walking 10m old.
To be fair they do say you need to supervise your child in it at all times, but DD finds wriggling free from it so enticing that she is probably safer without it. Also the fabric stains really easily.

The Totseat looks a much better design.

We also have this which is really good (and very secure) when staying with family or visiting friends for the day but not practical when out in town of course.

We have this one: www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+Baby-Weaning-Mealtimes-Multi-Stripe-Cotton-Pocket-Highchair+B9017

Have been using it for DD since she was 6 months old with no problems. Its great, just folds up and goes in the nappy bag. She has yet to escape from it. She is now 11 months and almost walking.

Sorry to highjack, but I'm wondering how any of these work as a substitute high-chair due to lack of a tray? We have the Jojomamanbebe one but I'm yet to use it. DD is 11 months and average sized but I don't see how she could reach a table from a standard height chair. Are they limited to spoon fed babies and those old enough to be handed individual pieces of food?

I bought one at a Nearly New Sale in eager anticipation, but never really used it. DS has always done better on a lap. Most restaurants/pubs we've been to have had highchairs, when travelling to family/friends we've taken our antilop as it comes apart. We do have a travel booster seat which I keep in the car, just in case - the difference being that the booster seat can be put on a chair and then he sits at a table, but these fabric seats are too low for that.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but DS only had finger foods for most of his first year, so getting him to the table was quite important.

Oh crap. You just reminded me I bought my DD one of those and have never used it Blush/ don't know where it is BlushBlush.
