Packed lunch for a 1yo with only 1 tooth?

Hi - I'm looking for suggestions for packed lunches for my DD to take to nursery.

She's just approaching her 1st birthday, only recently got her 1st tooth and it looks like the 2nd is on its way. She has also only recently started showing an interest in feeding herself (finger food, that is), so I'd like to encourage this while she's at nursery.

The nursery will not heat any food once babies have moved on from purees. I need to check if they store chilled food in a fridge. I also need to check if they'd spend time cutting up food into bite sized pieces. But assuming they don't - what can I send DD off with? So far all I can think of is bite-size sandwiches with hummus or cream cheese, and sliced grapes!

Veggie sticks with humous/cream cheese to dip in to.
Tortilla wedges.
Risotto fingers.
Quiche.
Pasta (my DD will eat cold pasta).
My DD also used to eat cold cheese on toast.

I'm terrible with lunches.

Ooh a brilliant thread, I send my 1 year old to a cildminder every day and pack his lunch for him so I would love to see the responses.

He often has:

Marmite or dairlyea sarnies
Grapes cut in half
Satsuma (or similar) segments
Brocolli and cheese balls that I make and freeze, think they are an AK recipe, you could google it
Chicken and apricot burger things (as above)
Petit Filous- he's beginning to use a spoon with this now (!)
Bread sticks
Baby sweetcorn
Carrot (cooked)
Organix snack things
Pasta- again as poster above he will eat it cold

Good luck!!!

Can they mush up ok cheeses with no teeth? I tried her on some raw apple the other day but she struggled with it and spat it out.

Sorry for poor sense in that last post! I meant "can they mush up cheeses ok with no teeth".

Btw, I am liking the idea of tortilla wedges and quiche. :) Does it have to be home made or can anyone recommend any shop-bought ones suitable for babies. I do my best, but the time I have free to cook from scratch is very limited.

DD was BLW'd from 5 months and didn't get her 1st tooth til 10 months! They really can bite more than you think with just gums!
