Food re-heating question!

I get a little bit confused about reheating previously cooked food, sorry if this is a bit of a noddy question...
So I made some roast chicken last night, and tonight I want to give a small amount of it pureed with sweet potato to my 7 month old. He loves chicken! The chicken has been in the fridge since last night. I was going to take some small pieces off and blend it with the cooked sweet potato, then serve it. I don't think I need to reheat the chicken as it has not been frozen. Is this correct?!! Thanks!

I haven't been sure about this. What I have been doing is if I am reheating food, I make sure I heat it until it is piping hot throughout, and then let it cool. I figure this should kill any bugs. Eg for tea today I was giving DS some left over chicken curry, broccoli and rice from our dinner last night. Rice can be a bit dodgy so I made sure it was really really hot - then I stirred some yoghurt into it to cool it and also make it less spicy.

However if you want to give it cold, i'm sure that's fine too if it's straight from the fridge. I think the dodgy ground is if you reheat it to lukewarm, or if it sits around at room temp for a while.

Am happy to be corrected on this!

Agree with Woodlands.

I think the key point is how long did it sit around at room temp before you put it in the fridge last night? This will tell you how long bacteria had to multiply, so if it sat around for a while then I would reheat to piping and let it cool, if it was cooled quickly and refridgerated straight away then I guess you could give it without reheating.

Also as a general rule, check the temp of your fridge - it should be at 0-5 degrees.
