salt and cooking pasta

Is it OK to add a small amount of salt to the water when cooking pasta for a weaning baby?

I believe you add salt normally to speed up the cooking time as it alters the boiling point, but not sure whether the pasta absorbs the salt so making it harmful for baby.

just make it without salt - I always have and it works fine!

I never add it, whether cooking for adults or children, so I don't know if it makes a lot of diffference timewise, but it cooks fine and tastes fine without it.

it's not necessary

its also a bit of a fallacy this salt / boiling point thing because a 20% salt addition will only raise the boiling point a couple of degrees and I'm sure you'll add much less

the only reason to add salt really is for the taste

I never use salt in any of my cooking and certainly wouldn't use it when cooking for a baby.

Never use salt in cooking, even before dd...just bung the pasta in some boiling water and cook for ten minutes...always works for me!
