BLW and nursery

Just started BLW with DS2. He's loving it, trying lots of stuff, getting excited when he sees his high chair etc. All good. I go back to work when he's 10 months and am looking for a childminder for him and DS1 as we're also moving house. No luck so far so also looking at nurseries. Has anyone any experience of how they cope with BLW? It's only 2 days, so tbh spoon feeding would be ok, but I suspect after 4 months of BLW, he'd object if someone tried to feed him!

I thought this about dd, told nursery she'd feed herself, but I'm pretty certain she was spoonfed most of the time - she was only in 2 days as well, and it didn't change how she ate at home. I'd just say that he feeds himself and leave it at that, tbh - if they let him, all well and good, but I don't think it'll stop him self-feeding at home if they don't.

I know that both nurseries we looked at support BLW, and there's another around here which pretty much insists on it (at nursery anyway!)

Given that the nursery will have to feed toddlers, who I hope wouldn't be spoon fed mush, suitable food will be available for them to use so it really shouldn't be an issue. I suppose it depends what the staff are familiar/ happy with.

my dd started nursery at a similar age and the nursery was very supportive,
they give her finger foods or loaded spoons/forks depending on what*s on the menu an now at 14 month she is starting to eat yoghurt etc herself.

my DS started nursery a month ago at 10 months and is BLW. They were happy to give him the 'toddler' menu (i.e 'normal')rather than the 'baby' menu (i.e. puree/mashed) They cut it up for him and put it on the tray/table. He is in a room with kids up to 16 months so they are having 'proper' food anyway.
The only issue (and I dont really see it as an issue as its only 3 days a week) is that the food is a bit grown up for an under one, eg they have cakes/puddings which I wouldn't give him at home.
I suspect they offer him a spoon for some of the sloppier stuff, but I dont mind this as I spoonfeed yoghurts at home.
I think that if you dont want your DS to have stuff with sugar/salt then you will have to specify/limit the 'toddler' type menus.
My DS apparently eating well so far and his nappies appear to bear this out!
I am sure your DS will be fine and most nurseries would be happy to accomodate after all its easier for them not having to spoon it in!
