Think I've royally messed up

I'm really worried that I've totally messed up with milk and weaning.
My 7 month old is quite a chubby baby, started weaning her at 6 months and she's really loved her food. However has slowly been drinking less and less milk.
For example, today has been the worst. She had her morning bottle at 8am - of the 6oz, she only drank 3.
Then breakfast was weetabix so that upped it by a couple of ounces.
Then she had lunch of a pouch of ella's stage 2, then a yoghurt at 12. Then at 3ish, she wouldn't have any milk. Tea of mullagawhatsit chicken and pasta, and only about 3oz of milk at bed.

Have I really gone wrong? Should I cut out her meals until she drinks more milk again?

I would ask the HV, but to be honest, all she's ever said to me is...if you're unsure I'd see the GP. Don't have much confidence in her.

As I said, I'm so worried about if I've messed up Sad
Would love some advice, or to hear that it's not that unusual...anything!
Thanks

Why are you so worried? How long has this been happening? It might be just a phase. Try not to concern yourself too much. Is it the nutrional aspect? Vitamins and the like? There is the diary aspect in the yoghurt remember.

I don't think you've messed up, some babies do just prefer food to milk! At this age you need to be aiming for around 16-20oz a day though I believe.

I would maybe try cutting out tea for now and replacing it with milk, and you could try a dreamfeed without waking her up?

As long as she's getting her calcium etc from a range of other foods I wouldn't worry

My DS is doing this too. I just keep offering and aim for a pint a day. Some days we do better than others. I do make sure he has milk on his cereal/in his porridge and offer him cheese as part of snack time.

I just trust that if he needed it he would take it, and make sure he has every opportunity to do so.

sounds fine to me.I.ve been giving my 9mo similar since he was about 7mo.
Cereal for breakfast. then 5oz of milk. Fruit for lunch then another 5oz & tea is something cooked then a 6oz bottle of hipp good night milk. He still has a bottle in the middle of the night. Most of the time he doesn't drink all his milk.

Sounds fine to me. DS dropped a milk feed at around 6 months, another at about 7 months, and a 3rd at 8 months. Now, aged 10 months, he has one 8oz bottle first thing in the morning, and one 8oz bottle at bedtime. That's it. I live in Belgium, so things are a bit different here, but DS is absolutely fine - a fantastic eater of anything I put in front of him, very healthy, happy and growing along the 45th centile for weight and the 95th for height quite happily.

He did go through a phase around 6/7 months of being quite fussy at taking his milk. I think you just have to work through it....

DS1 was the same. Tbh, he wasn't a big fan of the milk from the very beginning, but as soon as we started solids about 6 months, he just started dropping feeds. By about 10 months, he was just having a morning and evening bottle. I just made sure I incorporated plenty of calcium into his diet. As soon as he hit a year, he quite happily drank cow's milk and still does at 3yrs. It was obviously breastmilk and formula he wasn't keen on!

Thanks! I think I got myself worried reading that they should be still be having about 16oz per day. Perils of googling I suppose. As my mum said, you only have to look at her to see she is happy and healthy, but I really appreciate all your replies.
My other daughter took a lot longer to drop feeds so I think I've been comparing. Silly really as they are so totally different in build.
I'll keep offering and see, I did wonder if it's just a phase as ascouser said.
But as I said, I really appreciate the replies and I'll stop worrying. Much appreciated Smile
