my 7 month loves his solids and is very happy with what im doing. im just a bit concerned as to how much milk he should be having he has a bottle in the morning and a bttle before bed but not a feed through the day as he refuses it. other people are saying to me he need afternoon milk but its impossible for me to get him to have that. i always make sure his solids have milk in and he has plenty of dairy and natural yoghurts. he sleeps really well and is very happy so is what im doing right ?? its really playing on my mind sad

Hi, I have a 7 month old girl and exactly the same problem most afternoons! Babies of this age do still need about 600 ml milk a day (that's 3 bottles).

She appears really hungry but then starts chewing on her bottle (she is also teething) and much more interested in finger food ie rice cakes and her solids. What I usually do is mix the milk with baby rice and feed her with a spoon, no problem. Like you, I try and include plenty of dairy so I am sure she has enough. Checked this at the baby clinic and that's fine. Hope this helps

ps not sad, I worried too especially as I still breastfeed early morning and bedtime so never sure how much she is getting!

I have a seven month old who has always hated drinking her milk. She now has 4 or 5 ounces in the morning and 8 ounces before bed. Health Visitor is happy with this. Dd is extra happy with this, much rather have yummy food than yucky milk!

Have you tried going somewhere quiet away from distractions to feed him in the daytime? My dd would hardly drink anything in the daytime because of all the distractions. Finally, we got her drinking properly by sitting in a dimly lit, quiet room. Was boring, but it got the liquid down her!
