When did you drop a milk feed? and how?

My 8 month old is now starting to eat 3 meals a day. She also has milk at 7am , 11am, 3pm, 7pm, 11pm...

It seems like a lot to be eating so much and still wanting so much milk... I am mix feeding so its hard to tell how much she takes at the breastfeeds... so how do I know which feed to drop and when??

Do I enforce the dropping of the feeds or will she not want milk? As it is so far she wants and consumes all the food and all the milk...and did I mention she is in the 97th percentile?

what did you do?

DD is 9 months now at has 3 meals and milk at 9am, 2pm and 6.30pm.
She's never been a big lover of milk and has always adored food so she was prob easier than many but I replaced the milk feeds with meals.
So, 7am milk, breakfast and then lunch at 11.30 for example to try and drop the 11am feed.

I've just managed to drop a feed with my 8 month DD, but did it by extending the interval between them (was approx 3 hrs, now 4) rather than dropping one entirely. But, unlike yours, DD was being really slow with each feed and taking very little so it hasn't been too hard. Now she is having a decent amount at each feed again, though not a lot of solid food as yet.

I'm no expert (and have been lucky not to have experienced any night feeds for a long time) but in your situation I'd be aiming to drop the 11pm one first as she's consuming a lot in the day. Does she wake for this or is it a dreamfeed? If the former could you try just offering water in the hope she will soon decide it's not worth waking for?
