milkmoustache - did you decide to wean? (similar situation)

wondered what you'd decided vis-a-vis weaning. saw your posts and i'm in a similar situation -ds will be 19 weeks tomorrow and his sleeping/feeding has been all over the place for the last 10 days or so. he was going from 7pm to at least 3:30 or 4am (even managed 6am once) but now wakes up for feeds at least twice a night (yawn) - e.g. last night down at 7pm, awake at 1:00, 3:30 and 6:00. wouldn't settle without a feed.

worryingly, he feeds really well at night but is increasingly fussy during the day, and i'm worried that he's developed a pattern of catching up on calories at night.

i'd rather wait (for all the reasons listed on threads below) but wonder how long i can wait for this 'blip' to pass - if indeed it is a blip.

Hi Vic

I've only just seen this - sorry!
I did decide to start weaning, and she seemed very ready for food and is quite interested in the whole thing - esp if pears are involved. I've posted elsewhere about the unwanted side-effects of weaning for DD - she has just started going for two instead of one night feeds, so I'm now offering her more water in case she's thirsty. Otherwise I think I'll have to add some formula to her solids as my own supply is dramatically reduced these days and it has been suggested that solids provide bulk but not calories which is why she is waking up hungry.
Good luck with your DS!
