should I cut DS's milk?

I am at a loss.

DS is 14 months, very big, strong and healthy. He was born on the 50% percentile but hit the 95% very soon after and is still there.

He's not fussed about solids at all. He has been asking me for milk for hours today - I've offered him three different lunches, all things he likes, but he just wants a bottle of milk and gets angry if I put a bowl of food in front of him. I've tried finger food. He doesn't seem to associate milk with satisfying his hunger. Sometimes he will eat a good meal but when I see how much other babies eat I think it's not actually that much.

Does it matter that he seems to prefer to get his calories from milk?

they only need the equivalent of about 350mls (approx 12 oz) so not that much especially as some of that intake can come from dairy products and milk in cereal, etc. At that age ds had 2 cups of milk per day - 1 with breakfast and 1 before bed and water with meals and snacks. How many bottles is he having per day?

About 5 big bottles. And I often give him one in the night which he absolutely falls on. I had previously dropped all night milk but these days he wakes up really hungry in the night.

He just gave in and ate some lunch. Then I gave him some milk which he guzzled enthusiastically. He's never that bothered about his food.

I do realise this isn't the norm, but as he's clearly strong and healthy, is there any problem? He must get the vitamins and trace elements he needs from the small amount he eats (all home made).

Has anyone else's DC followed a similar pattern?
