DD is been on baby rice while and now i started doing veg and we do have some jars and dried food. Last week i made potato mash and put it in the fridge ice tray. Yesterday i had trouble to get them out again. Problem is there are 12 cubes in there, i only wanted couple of them. Started with knife and fork, at the end let them defrost. So i only used the couple cibes and put others in the bin.
Just seen ice cube tray on BM catalogue. Are they the same thing or individual cubes??

regular cubes work, if you have trouvle getting them out then run kettle over back very briefly and put them all in a freezer bag and label it so you can use the tray again.

meant regular trays

I had rubber ice cube trays (can't remember where I got them), made it slightly easier to get the cubes out. Also found it helped to decant the cubes into freezer bags once they were frozen, rather than leaving them in the tray for a long time as the longer they are there the more stuck they seem to get.

diva - BM do individual ones which work really well. I think they are bigger than the standard (but also a bit more expensive). They are individual pots with lids so if we are going to stay somewhere I have just taken a cube or two in the pot and put them in the fridge at the other end. To get the food out you just need to run some warm water over them and then I slide a knife down the side. I have broekn a few of them trying to prise them out with a knife but think this may be my clumsiness !!

there are some brilliant rubber ones around that hold 32 cubes. you can pop out the food really easily, straight into a freezer bag so the tray is ready for the next batch of food. I found i broke the other trays or had cubes skidding over the floor, a real pain when you have spent ages trying to make the food 'sterile'. they cost £8 each and you can get them from a shop in Newark called The Cooks Pantry call them and they would be happy to send them to you 01636 703313

diva4mgl - I have some of those BM individual ones going spare if you want them - a couple of trays at least (CAT me if interested)

I've got Tupperware ones (which I don't think you can get in the UK now? ) which are fab. The normal tray has a lid, so keeps the food away from other things, and they also do a tub which has 3 or 4 levels of ice cube tray with a lid, so again they stay nice and clean. They still do them in the US so maybe you can get them on E-Bay?

I got the same ones (by the sound of it) as Physio (bu form a cook shop in Guildford). They're great. Large cubes and easy to get out.
