Pudding Ideas for Babies - 10 mo

Just wonder if my DS is fed up of banana, yogurt, strawberries, rice cakes & biscuits. Somtimes I use those fruit puree pots but they are sooo sweet. Haven't really made any proper puddings for him, fancy making an apple crumble that he will be able to eat - what can i do to compensate for the lack of sugar? Can he have ground almonds?
Any other ideas for pudds please?
Thanks

banana/carrot cake
greek yoghurt with fruit puree
Any fruit

tbh, I wouldn't bother with making anything special, just give him what you're having (if you have pudding)..

DS is obsessed with puddings, I wish I'd stuck to plain old yoghurt in the beginng!

I also wouldn't make anything especially for the baby, but the following puddings have been fully appreciated by both ds and myself Grin :

rice pudding
bread and butter pudding
fruit crumble
stewed apple and yoghurt or creme fraiche
cake of all types - esp apple, carrot, banana cake
fruit salad

But ds's favourite is still pineapple - he waves his arms around and goes "ooh ooh" when he sees it!

BTW I make my stewed apple and crumbles with dessert apples, so don't add any extra sugar.

Banana loaf doesn't need any extra sugar.

I halved the sugar in my rice pudding and bread and butter recipe (but I do that anyway because it's very sweet for me).

Any "nursery" type puddings go down well in our house - rice pudding, crumbles, fruit pies, pineapple upside down cake, treacle pudding. I know they're a bit sugary but as long as they're not having them every day and you don't add loads of sugar I think it's OK. Oh and get your camera ready the first time you give him ice cream! Why do they need puddings?

I usually just give fruit either raw or stewed. Grapes and plums go down particularly well here Grin.

For a treat we've had rice pudding (have also halved the sugar and you don't notice - without it it wasn't very nice)and sugar free banana cake (good recipe for sugar free banana cake on babyledweaning.com)

My DS usually has a fruit pot or a sugar free fruit yoghurt. He will also eat plain yoghurt. I only give him a pudding at the moment because he's a guzzler, once he's a bit older and eating proper meals with us, I'll probably drop them as we only have one once a week or so.

We've made sugar free rice pudding and DH just chucks maple syrup over his portion to sweeten it up. It wasn't very liquidy so we gave it to DS to pick up in his fingers. Success.
