Cows milk on cereal?

I know this is a stupid question and I think it's fine, but guidelines are 'cows milk for cooking only until 1 year'.

Does that include milk for cereal?

Can't be faffed to express or buy formula, just for cereal (don't think it would justify the cost). I am OK to use cows milk for Readybrek aren't I? DS2 is 7 months and breastfeeding loads still and BLW.

Yes i think that's fine so long as he is having a good breastfeed in the morning too. We use cows milk for DDs cereal if she has drunk all her formula (she is 8m).

He isn't having too much when he wakes, but only because he feeds like a horse at both midnight and 4-5am and isn't hungry at 7 and would rather watch his big brother play! He pretty much feeds every 2 hours or so in the daytime, so I'm sure he's getting enough.

Thanks for posting.

It's fine.

The guidelines say that cow's milk should not be used as the main milk drink until aged one. This is because it doesn't contain enough iron. This is why you should continue to offer breastmilk or formula as the main milk drink until one (or later).

However, cow's milk is totally fine for all other uses once baby is over 6 months. And the odd drink of cow's milk won't hurt either.
