How many BFs to give when weaning?

Hello

Sorry if this topic has been done to death on this board but I am new to this weaning lark & think I am overdoing the solids..

DS was EBF and started having a little bit of baby rice for tea. Then at the weekend we started him on breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering the boob after each meal, plus an early morning feed, afternoon and evening feed. He also has about 3 breastfeeds during the night.

This morning he took an early morning breastfeed, then breakfast, took about an ounce or so mid morning and hasn't wanted anything since.

Should I just offer breakfast and dinner to begin with and give a breastfeed for lunch?

Thank you.

Sorry I meant to ask if it is normal for them to have less wet nappies or is that a sign they aren't taking enough milk?
Thank you

you should be feeding first, then offering a small amount of solids afterwards
milk should continue to be the main source of nutrition until your child is at least a year old.
so offer breast, then solids if he is interested.
if not then just take it slowly

Agree entirely wth thisisyesterday too.

Kellymom has more info.

exactly as thisisyesterday said. BF will reduce very gradually, and I wouldn't say I even noticed a difference until 8-9 months.
