My DD is 25 weeks and i started weaning at 22 weeks as she was realy watching us eat and was reaching for the food. She has been doing realy well and has a good apetite.
However in the last few days she will only drink 2oz of her bottles so is only have about 10oz a day, i am still offering her food and she is eating it and she is drinking water. Today i have cut down on the solids alittle and she has drunk more milk but dont want to set the weaning back ifkwim.

Any advise on how to get her to eat and drink her milk would be gratefully accepted.

are you offering milk first before solids

seriously don't panic about setting weaning back - some babies don't start till 26 weeks Smile

a visit to see your hv/gp could put your mind at ease

hi ray81 - been trying to write a reply to this post either here or in bandbfeeding for what feels like days now. Things keep happening just when I'm about to!
My dd is 28 weeks and we started very slow, gentle weaning at 17/18 weeks. She didn't drop much milk at all until 24/5 ish weeks when I introduced dairy and wheat into diet followed by meat at 26 weeks.
Now she is eating 3 meals a day getting that pint into her can seem a bit tricky. I have started to only offer milk three times a day - mid morning, mid afternoon and bedtime. Offering it less has helped a little I think. I also get wound up less by it!
Also, don't forget that any source of dairy does count towards the pint a day. I'm not sure if you have started dairy at 22 weeks but if you have/once you do then yoghurt, cheese sauces etc count.
'Hiding' milk also helps. Offer her baby rice/porridge mixed with her formula milk. if she takes it then that's an extra few ozs done too!
Another consideration - is she teething at all? My dd really lost her appetite last week and then a tooth appeared yesterday!
