About to start BLW - what "equipment" do I need?

I have: Antilop high chair
1 x small silicone spoon

Was going to also get:

4x bibs (the slong sleeve wearable type)
1 x Doidy cup
Some wee plastic plates and bowls to allow her to fling food around more effectivelyGrin
3x JML Magic table cloths or similar (or should I just get tarps from B&Q?)

What else do I need?/ Any opinions on what I am intending to get?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't actually think you need any specific equipment to do this - in ye olden days babies would be chucked a bit of whatever and left to get on with it. Has BLW now become an industry in itself?

Anyway, I'm sure what you've got will be just fine Grin

Sounds similar to what I have,

However would suggest a few more bibs unless you want to be washing even more often Grin

Also I would suggest more than one spoon, so your dc can have one to flingaround eat from and one you can be loading up.

I got some really nasty PVC table cloths, the sort that granny would be proud of from a market, they were a couple of quid each, I carry one in my changing bag for protecting friends floors when we go for lunch!

Oh would also suggest getting some little tuppaware boxes for popping rice cakes/pieces of fruit etc in when out and about.
Enjoy blw

plenty of kitchen towels

I found one of those suction pads for stopping the bowls going flying useful. Although we mainly put stuff on the highchair at first.

Dettol or similar for cleaning the high chair

We use machine washable washing up cloths (the white cotton ones) - one per meal to wipe down baby, then high chair.

I have heard a dog is useful to help with clearing up!

Enjoy

Sounds similar to what I have.

I bought some plastic bowls and plates to start with but they seemed to distract DD and she'd spend all the meal playing with them instead of the food so I just put the food directly on her tray in the end.

I'd second more bibs - we seem to get through loads in our house - I have a mix of sleeved ones and pull over the head ones - the velcro ones were a nightmare as once DD learnt to rip them off, they never stayed on!

I bought a cheapy shower curtain for the floor. It has great coverage and is easy to clean - after meals I wipe it, DD and the chair down with a damp cloth and if it's very messy just stick it in the washer.

Have fun!

We also have a wipe clean pelican bib.

DD is getting better but fruit sticks and similar foods sometimes just slip out of her grasp and 9 times out of 10 they fall in the bib and she can fish them back out herself saving me the effort of rooting around on the floor while being kicked by her happy dangling feet

We haven't bothered with plastic sheeting as we've got tiles in the kitchen and I think cleaning those is easier than cleaning sheeting...All friends have similar set ups and babies of similar age so making a mess is not a problem - we are all very good at tidying away after our hurricane lunches Smile

Best of luck!
