DS is 7 months and 1/2 old and I'm starting to introduce lumpy food, sometimes he will eat it and sometimes won't. Is the introduction of lumpy food as try and see experience?

He does a bit of BLW but he is not very bothered by it.

Also what do you put in puree to get them lumpier? I use rice, potage pasta, mince ham.

Never did purees so can't help re lumps but I would give him finger food that he can suck on and bit like bananas, melon, pear pieces, hard biscuits (not too salty, sugary).

I doubt it's the lumps that make him not eat it, more mood / taste.

when you blitz the purée just don't blitz it for quite so long.

I find the difference in the texture of a purée that has been through the blender for 1 minute versus 30 sec is quite dramatic.

You can also use cous cous and things like that to add lumps very easily to runnier purees (e.g. if you still have loads in the freezer of the soft stuff like me!).
