wilful daughter!, started to wean at 6 months -ish;started ok with fairly regular eating, now less and less interested ( last 2-3 weeks )and more and more boob! and at night sometimes every 2 hours as when newborn!exhausting. we are being a bit lazy as without a food mixer we are on stage 1 packaged organic stuff; organix/ ellas kitchen and Hipp, and she'll happily eat fruity/ creamy stuff mainly porridge and fruit. she eats at best a few mouthfulls of breakfast ; about 8 am( fruit or porridge) with a bit of water; a few mouthfulls of creamy veg or fruit
( lunch;about 11.30-12 pm )and generally alot more supper-( 5-6 ish )sometimes a bowlfull of fruity porridge...she breastfeeds after breakfast; late morning, after lunch ( long feed while dozing ) late afternoon ( 4-ish ) and then immed. after supper. i feed her off to sleep.

do you think she might be teething?

otherwise I would say that she was eating an ok amount really. You don't have to get them eating loads and loads by any certain time. Milk is their main source of nutrition

try her with finger food, she might like that better

cooked carrot sticks and sweet potato are good, toast fingers, anything they can get to their mouth and stuff in. I used to cook porridge till it was solid and give that to DD. Great if you can cope with the mess.

Firstly, milk is the main source of nutrition until one year old - the point of introducing food is so she can experience new flavours and textures, not to really to sustain her.

I don't know much about spoon feeding because I took a baby-led approach but I can say that it seems very common for babies not to take a lot of solid food until around 9 months. Also, they will often wake more when they're learning new things - like experimenting with food!

When my baby's appetite grew like that I couldn't keep up the breastfeeding, it was too exhausting. Especially if you find you aren't producing as much by the end of the day. A bottle of formula might help her through the night.
