The dts are 24 weeks, they've been have pureed fruit in the eves for a few weeks, but are still gettign thru 5 or 6 bottles of 7oz in 24 hours. So I tried introducing bfast and occassionally lunch when they seem extra hungry, but the more food they have the more they seem to wake up at night, esp dt1. Should I perservere with weaning or go back a step and let them have the 35-40oz a day of milk? Is that too much milk?
Has anyone else had a baby bcome less settled on weaning? I'm sure dd and ds slept better after weaning.

Milk is more calorific than first foods and should form a large part of their diet for the first year. Don't know about amounts of milk, I'm afraid, but bumping your message for someone who might!

My weaning book says that they should be drinking around 28-30oz per day at this age. I found ds started waking when he was about 26 weeks and had been weaned for around 5 weeks on fruit & vegetables and breakfast. I introduced protein at 27 weeks and found it helped, I had read somewhere that waking in the night can be a sign of the baby needing more protein.

I read other threads sayign about possible tummy problems, but I don't think this is what the problem is with the dts. Maybe I should introduce more protein in their diet, but I have been trying to hold of daiy ubntil 6 mnths.

Sorry Kelly, forgot they are not quite 6 months. I would hold off protein until they are 6 months, which is only a couple of weeks away now.

KElly, are you giving them any water? Could be thirsty? I read that you need to start give babies extra fluid (other than milk) when they start on solids
