How much solids should 6mo eat at the start of weaning?

Hello all

I have just started to wean my 6mo DD two weeks ago and it seems to be going pretty well. She has so far tried apple, potato, sweet potato, carrot, broccoli and the usual baby rice. And she seems to love it. She's only having one meal of solids a day at the moment, but since the beginning has really been wolfing down a whole Tommee Tippee food pot full, then cries for more... I thought this was a good sign that I had started to wean her at the right time, but after discussing with another mum with a LO of similar age, apparently, I'm feeding her too mcuh at this initial stage. I've been told to hold off and only give 2-3 ice cubes of puree max. I think DD is eating minimum 5 cubes in 8 mins! Should I listen to the other mum or just allow DD to eat as much as she needs? I am of course continuing with the milk feeds.

Thanks in advance.

I would let her eat at much as she wants as she is above 6 months. Not all people (babies) have the same appetite. Mine is eating much more than that, 7 months in a few days (but was weaned early) she is also the sized of an average 1 yo.
You know your daughter.

as much as she wants as long as she has no digestive problems with it. ds had reflux and if he had too much he would vomit so I had to restrict food for him. dd on the other hand is interested in food but only eats tiny amounts (she*s 8 months)
