BLW 11mo hardly eating, should I cut down milk?

DS decided he wanted to do BLW, he hates spoons when it comes to savory food (doesn't mind with fruit or yogart).

So a few weeks ago he had a virus and stopped eating solids altogether for a week. He started eating again when he was better but he only picks and is feeding from me heaps (I'm exhausted, he's a big boy). I was wondering if I should try and reduce his feeds from me? I've tried to offer him his water cup but he goes crazy and and gets really upset.

Anyone got any advice?

Are you making sure you offer food before milk?

I think at this age they're getting most of their nutrition from milk anyway, so I don't think it's the end of the world. My ds took ages to get his head around eating, but they do get there in the end.

Can you get him snacking on solids during the day instead of three meals a day? So have five mini meals? He might start to cut down on feeds then as he's getting full.

My DS is nearly 10 months and has 5 BF in 24 hours. I've only just noticed in the last week his appetite for solids increase - before he would pick or fuss. Maybe your DS being ill has set him back a touch but he'll ramp up the solids soon?

I am offering snacks too but he's not that interested.

I'll try doing more meals, putting him in his chair and giving him stuff I know he likes.

He is just feeding from me when he's hungry. If he starts up just before a meal time I try and get his meal to him first but he works himself into a real state and won't eat anything. So I've been giving him a small feed then offering him food.

Thanks

I'm sure he'll come back to it - maybe let him eat from your plate to get him used to it again?

Good idea igglybuff, didn't think of that.
