How much to take on a 14-day trip?

I'm due to go to Florida in September.

I've got the Quick Service Dining Plan with Disney-which gives 2 quick service meals, including drinks, a snack/speciality drink and a refillable drink for the resort.

I was going to take £2000 for the two weeks and my boyfriend will be taking a similar amount-is this enough? The extra experiences will have been paid for/accounted for outside of that amount.

I thought it was plenty to take-because we don't be doing a lot of sit down meals etc at night, but now I've heard other people take upwards of £5000 for two weeks and I'm panicking it's not enough.

How much would you take? Bear in mind-there are no kids, etc. So the £2000 will be covering just me.

It's plenty. Some people spend lots but you have meals accounted for and drinks and extra experiences already accounted for. We are here for 16 days (not just Disney) and with no meals included and we think that is more than enough.

If you break it down you would roughly have 188usd a day just for food. I would think that would be plenty for 1 person, plus you’ve got the dining plan.

Are you planning on doing any full dining meals on top. My experience is only one QS and one sit down meal a day and to be honest apart from tips we spent very little and it was way too much (it’s 2 snacks a day).
It really depends really how much you and your BF eat and whether you need more food on top, you can get quite big snack items.

are you going to physically take money as usually you just charge everything to your room, so personally I would take a credit card for that and just split it up when you pay when you get home.

Dont forget America has a huge tipping culture

Thanks everyone.

I don't think we're going to be doing a lot of sit-down meals, to be honest. We've got one booked in for Epcot with the fireworks and that'll be paid for before we go, and I think we were hoping to rely quite heavily on the dining plan for food as we're quite happy to just do two quick service meals and then get snacks in for the room from Walmart for anything extra at night.

That sounds plenty then!

We went at Easter with only one QS meal per day and found the food a lot cheaper than it is in Paris. We had breakfast bars from a supermarket, and found that some of the snacks were effectively a meal especially for the kids - like the turkey leg!

It is a lot easier to order on the app and just go and collect it. Skips most of the queuing although it is not possible at every place.

I'll assume that when you say "taking" you really mean budgeting. The only cash you need is a stack of $5 bills for tips - doormen, bell services, housekeeping and waiting staff. About $500 should do it.

We went last year and found that supermarket prices were double that of the UK - on average.

I have no idea how much you intend to spend on souvenirs. I'm a tight-wad and no longer buy them at WDW. They're really just cheap plastic tack anyway.

If spending on Ubers, you might average $25 each one way trip depending where you go.

Have a great time.

That is more than enough. We got the quick service dining plan and it's plenty of food (and I like my food). Look on youtube for videos of the best snacks - some of them are like a meal! The refilable mug will save you a fortune on drinks at your resort too. You will only need money for souvenirs. Also, September is a great time to go as it's not so busy. Have an amazing time.

We just had 2 weeks family of 6. We spent £2000 in 2 weeks. No dining plans. 5 park days. Rest at hotel other than 1 shopping day. That sounds plenty! Our average meal for the 6 of us was £100 which is what we would spend at home really. We mostly had big breakfast and dinner each day. Our hotel did happy hour drinks 4-7pm and it was around £5 a drink. That's when we had a drink 😄 have a fab time.
