Hello everyone!

We have a choice to go to WDW Florida next year at either Feb half term or Easter. Can anyone recommend which is better?

We don’t mind if it’s not that warm in February (can wear coats), it’s more when everything is less crowded? I’d assumed Feb but saw that President’s week is really busy and that’s the same week as my kids’ half term so maybe would be just as rammed as Easter?

thanks!!!

I was going to say end of feb beginning of March is a good time. It is warm enough for shorts and t shirts, occasional light jacket and cooler in the evenings, not too humid and can walk straight on to rides with little to no queuing. Any holiday time will be crowded though tbh so you would have to queue at half term/Easter.

Easter the weather is perfect but it is very busy, so it depends how you feel about crowds. February can be quite cold, or it could be lovely, definitely more of a risk. Generally speaking Easter is the busiest time, however Disney work hard to get crowds in all year round and there are often conventions or events at different times of the year. I don't think Disney is ever really quiet, but I would say Easter will definitely be busier. You are much less likely to get cheap deals over Easter as well. We tend to do August as it is a bit quieter and a fair bit cheaper than Easter.

If you want to compare queue times head over to Touringplans.com who predict crowd levels and have data on past queue times for all of the rides!

I believe Spring Break in America is anywhere from early March to mid April. Easter holidays in the UK are likely to be the same period of time (Easter is mid April but state schools will probably have the fortnight beforehand and private schools another week or so before that.

Many American college students have half term break in February and lots flock to Florida to spend it there, so February is a busy time for the parks as well as Easter.

Cross posted @FuzzyStripes & you're right, they call it spring break 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’ve been in Feb and it was really quite cool, we all got strep too but once treated we were ok just took a few days, we go in October this year have also been in July, may and November preciously too. If you don’t mind it being cool and being warm clothes (you may get lucky though) go in Feb over Easter - v busy spring break etc

I’ve been about six times. February, May, October. February was by far the best for no queues, literally on each ride and straight back on. We did have to have the heating on in the pool though at the villa.

Weather during the day suited me as I didn’t have to smother in SPF50 and could still wear cropped pants and T-shirts but it meant clothes took a while to dry out when on water rides.

My fave time was October, I would expect Easter to be extremely busy and expensive.

Honestly I think it's always busy now - we went end of January this year and I was surprised by how busy it was! Weather was hot one week (up to 27) and coats first thing during the next week. We're going at Easter next year (DD and I both at school) and it will definitely be a lot busier, but generally Disney add extra performances to mitigate some of the crowds a little (e.g. two parades instead of one, an early and a late showing of Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios). DH and I have been at Easter and Christmas (pre-DD and pre-Covid) and it was manageable. Do your research in terms of which ride to rope drop or do last thing at night, budget to use lightening lines if possible (and if Disney sort out their daft pre-booking issues for the UK!) If you stay at a Disney resort you get 30 minutes early entry and that is so helpful to get on some of the bigger rides, especially when you're up at 5am with jet lag in the first couple of days!

Both times will be very busy but I believe Easter is exceptionally busy. I went in February half term a few years ago and the weather was around 22 degrees. Long lines though because it was just after the USA had reopened after covid.
