How much to budget?

Hi

I know this is such a personal experience but curious to know roughly how much we may spend on our trip.

All tickets, accommodation etc is paid for so it's just food, petrol, parking and shopping.

We're staying in a hotel that has a fridge but no cooking facilities. We plan to go to Walmart for breakfast and snacks. We're staying 10 nights and expect to buy 3 breakfasts (in restaurants), 5 lunches (quick eats) and 10 dinners (various of nice park sit downs and chain restaurants).

Would also like to do some clothes shopping whilst there. Nothing hugely expensive but a few treats.

Two adults and 1 DS aged 3.

I have a maximum amount of £5k but hoping we won't need anywhere near as that but who knows.

No idea I’m afraid but following with interest, currently trying to weigh up options for holiday

Same - following with interest. Been before but just can't remember what we spent... I'd like to not be quite so tight with gift shops etc this time! 😂

I would recommend bringing some sort of packed lunch and snacks with you and eat while queuing - helps to kill time and saves money. I think the Disney fast food is overpriced and a bit meh...

Last time I went was 9 years ago though so could be all changed! 🙈

I'd say about 3-4k for 10 nights. Portion sizes are huge so you may be able to get away with giving your 3 year old bits off from your and DH's plates?

Twice as much as you think, I'm not kidding, incredibly expensive. Restaurants don't mind you sharing food with dc though so save that way. Breakfast was running at about $50 in a basic place for 2 including tax and tip (not Florida, tax varies) lunch I'd budget $40 for fast food, $70-80 for sit down (but portions are huge so not if you have had a sit down breakfast) and dinner is $50 a head basically. Look before you go for coupons, or discount apps, look once you are there too, most chains will have deals. Inside the park I'd try and bring in snacks, water bottles etc to keep the miscellaneous stuff down. As for shopping, there's no bargains any more and most clothes are international, with them charging less in the U.K., personally I'd stick to a few things as souvenirs. If you want a Disney outfit bring from the U.K. or nip to a store not in the park

Oh and alcohol is $$$ water is always free, definitely a saving there. There are decent little neighbourhood places with good prices but finding them in a tourist hotspot isn't likely.

One option though for dinner especially if you are tired is to get takeaway from one of the numerous "markets" with hot food counters, whole foods is the best. We did this and ate in the park one night (different city)

We went with two adults and a ten year old last year and spent just under £4k in two weeks. We stayed on I drive and that covered Ubers to parks, all meals and gifts and merch. The portions are huge so we never needed 3 meals a day. We'd often have a Denny's / Ihop breakfast then we just needed a snack in the parks and dinner either on I drive or in a park. Lots of quick service outlets in the parks are good, we found the food in them as good as the restaurants tbh.
