Best way to book Disney Florida?

We are thinking about Disney Florida, going at some point over the next 2 years. But it feels a bit overwhelming. I think I'd like to get a package - flight, transfers, villa etc all in one. What are my best options? And is it one of those things that I should be booking now for October 2024!?

I've tried to look at this several times, and just got completely overwhelmed! Slightly different for us, as I don't drive, so would be looking to stay in one of the hotels and use the shuttle buses, but it's so complicated!

I looked at dates that would suit, but couldn't look at flights as it's too far ahead. Do people really book that expensive of a holiday without any plan in place of how/when/where they're going to fly out?

I'm a supposedly intelligent person, and I'm completely baffled by how the whole process works!

We booked through TUI last time. We stayed offsite in a large apartment in Buena Vista which had free buses to both Disney and Universal. Through TUI we booked the flights, apartment and park tickets for Universal, Disney and the Space Kennedy centre. We hired a car, but if we go again I wouldn’t bother and would just use Ubers or Lyft as we hardly used the car but did get fined for not having the right change for the many tolls!

Honestly, I wouldn't be setting foot in Florida now since Desantis has passed that new Bill into Law a week ago. People are cancelling their trips in their droves because of it. Besides the rest of the lunacy in the horrendous new law, the most concerning thing, is the fact that a Doctor can refuse to treat you even in an emergency situation, if you're either gay, a different race, a different religion to them or from a foreign country! Look it up, seriously. It's terrifying.

If you are staying in a Disney hotel and book directly, they are really flexible with changes, as long as they have availability.

Just book for one person initially to keep the deposit low, then add the other guests once you have booked your flights. The last time I booked, we benefitted from a good hotel deal and last minute flights too! Sadly, this was April 2020, so had to get everything refunded and again, Disney were fab and really flexible at rebooking/refunding.

We have been many times, and we are going again this weekend. When you've never been it can be overwhelming.

I usually book a Disney hotel directly with Disney, and include Disney tickets for the best deal. At the moment they have a dining credit offer for holidays in 2024.

Then I book the flights separately directly with the airline (usually Virgin).

That's the bones of it, then you can spend the year planning it!

My main concern is not even being able to check which airports I can fly out of. If I go ahead and book, then it transpires I can only fly out of one of the London airports, that's then no good for us.

I'm currently on holiday at Disney. We booked all of it, including tickets through Virgin in January 2022. I couldn't get my head round all the individual options so we booked package. Staying on site at both Universal (3 nights), then Disney (7 nights). The shuttles to the parks and the early access have been well worth it. So expensive though.
