A one day ticket to magic kingdom

Dishwashersaurous · 28/04/2023 12:32

I am looking into taking the kids to florida and I want to go to magic Kingdom as I remember it from childhood and want to share.

However, I cannot seem to find a price for a just one day ticket to just magic Kingdom. I don't want a 7 day ticket to multiple parks. I just want to go magic Kingdom.

Where do I find out the price and buy a one day ticket?

You could probably buy it on the US Disney website. It won't be specifically for MK though- will be valid for any park. You must also reserve the park as can get very booked up and you won't get in.

Or Olandoattractions.com.
Just Google 'one day ticket to Disneyworld' and loads of options come up

Dishwashersaurous · 28/04/2023 12:38

See I've googled and can only find 7 day tickets.

On all the sites it doesn't seem possible to just buy a one day ticket

We did this on our last trip. You have to download a VPN (plenty free ones on App Store) and you can buy through the Disney app or website. I found this the cheaper option plus meant I could book our park and have our E-tickets all set up.

You can buy them through undercover tourist which are recommended too.

i just went directly to the disneyworld website. Clicked on tickets. A 1 day ticket is the first option.

Actually - I just had a quick look on the US website and there are park specific tickets.

Oh, I sometimes forget not everyone has their house internet set up to shop worldwide. Not being facetious, i just forget that DH does strange things with our internet.

I called Disney about three day tickets. I could have bought them on the phone, but actually ended up buying them on the European site (as advised by the person on the phone!) I don’t know why they don’t sell them on the UK site🙄You may be able to get one day tickets there too.

Dishwashersaurous · 28/04/2023 14:46

This is going to sound stupid but every time I try and go to the US site it automatically directs me to the UK site and won't let me on it.

So I can only see the 7 day offers.

Hmm

The orlando attractions us site worked.

But blimey it's even more expensive than I thought it would be.

£775 for one day is an extraordinary amount of money.

Might need to rethink this

That's insane!! I just checked on my Disney world app (we went last year) and I can buy a 14 day pass for £519 - just £38 per day as they say! No choice of any other tickets though.

Dishwashersaurous · 28/04/2023 15:12

Its for five of us .

It's clear that the business model is now to encourage people to go for the whole week to the parks.

Whereas decades, and decades ago, it was still very much a day trip thing.

I remember when it tipped over $100 a day. UK residents tend to go for a longer stay to Florida due to the distance from here hence the 14 day for the price of 7 day ticket that also allows park hopping which I believe you can do after 2pm.

Do you only want one day? When did you last go? I believe there are over 60 rides and attractions at Magic Kingdom it is a lot of ground to cover. Depends how old your children are I suppose too. Now with Fastpasses being Genie+ and Lightening Lane it complicates things more and adds to the cost considerably if you choose that route. No longer free, I miss Fastpass.

ChocHotolate · 28/04/2023 15:33

It's about $150 per person with a small discount for children 3-9
This was posted in a FB group for Disney bound holiday makers a few days ago

You need a VPN to access the American Disney site. Otherwise you will be directed to the UK site.

A one day ticket is still pricey! It cost us $134 per adult and $129 per child last November. Weekends and different seasons vary per price

Omg I had no idea it was so much! Shock

I was hoping to do it in a few years. That is insane though, I don't know if I could bring myself to pay that.

Dishwashersaurous · 29/04/2023 07:08

The thing is that I want to do all sorts of other things in florida, as well as theme parks, so for and my family I really only want one or possibly a two day ticket.

I do understand that if you want to theme parks every day then paying £600 for a two week pass or similar seems OK.

It just seems that the business model is to encourage long stays, which makes sense from a business approach.

Undercover tourist does 1 or 2 day tickets if you want to buy them in advance.

Hiya for anyone interested try Trip.com download the app and go to attractions.
