Non-combat type games for X-Box/Cloud

I am new to gaming, treated myself to an Xbox controller and an upgraded Fire stick at Christmas so that I can play Xbox games on my TV.

Any recommendations for adventure/ strategy type games that don’t involve combat? I’ve played Little Kitty, Big City which was good for getting used to the controls, I’m enjoying Firewatch.

A friend recommended a couple of things but I’m discovering that because I am gaming through the Cloud, not all games are available despite having purchased a Game Pass.

Any recommendations for something with a good storyline and some interesting activities.

Hi, there's little nightmares it doesn't involve combat but can be quite jumpy.

The Sherlock Holmes games are quite good with no combat but does have a bit of button mashing with some of the activities.
Also the telltale games again no combat but follows a good story.

Boston Manor and Jusant both excellent and it says they are both on the cloud.

Sorry got the name wrong, Botany Manor, Fall Guys is a free game which is fun. I also really like Astroneer.

Thank you for these, looking forward to trying some of them out.

Disney dreamlight is pretty good if you like Disney. It sounds childish but is surprisingly fun doing the quests etc.

spiritfarer is very good too!

I just thought I'd come back on this, in case anyone else is looking for this type of game. I played Botany Manor and enjoyed it, thanks for the recommendation - I thought it was a bit cheesy at first but actually it had quite a few challenges. I also played a detective game called Kona but found I'd missed a lot of the items and it's all set in Canada in a snowstorm, made me feel too cold! One called Open Roads was fun but a bit basic and rather a lot of dialogue.

My latest discovery is Creatures of Ava which I am absolutely loving - the only shooting is of mythical animals (and then you're only shooting to cure them) and it's got good graphics. Still open to recommendations if anyone's come across other non-combat games meanwhile.

I have realised I'm never going to be brilliant at this sort of game, I often need to look for a walkthrough as I haven't understood the controls or I've missed something, but as a pensioner I'm quite proud of having picked up some of the aspects of gaming quite quickly :) still get beaten hollow by my five-year old g/son who seems to understand these things instinctively!

Have you tried Unravel? It's a physical puzzle game where a piece of yarn has to solve puzzle and add more yarn to itself before it runs out.
I know it sounds odd but it's a lovely game with really nice graphics and music and great but often frustrating puzzles 😁

Thanks for that recommendation, I’ve just looked for that and I think it’s something I would enjoy. I see also that it’s a two player game. I also see that it’s a two player game, so perhaps it’s something I could play with the five-year-old (although to be honest, he prefers more combat).

Glad you enjoyed Botany Manor. I like very laid back games sometimes and that hit the spot. The Pegi rating is probably a good guide for you, Creatures of Ava is for 7 and over so will not have heavy combat, I was going to recommend South of Midnight as it’s the same genre ( fantasy adventure) but that’s an 18. So will be violent. I haven’t played it but it’s next on my list and just arrived on Gamepass.
