Hello all, I haven't been on Mumsnet for a while. I'm pottypotamus in Po Go.
If anyone is waiting to level up with me, feel free to open gifts and egg whenever you like.
I'm in Australia and the time zone makes coordinegging hard.

My code if anyone fancies postcards from Oz:

Yes please! Trainer name begins with O.

porridgeisbae · 12/09/2023 18:56

Hey @Tarkan , did you try to make your pub crawl route yet? I just spotted in the guidelines that routes can be rejected if they involve drinking establishments. So you might want to set the start and end to the nearest stop/gym that isn't a pub. :)

Tarkan · 12/09/2023 18:59

I haven't yet so thank you for that. I'll have a rethink for ones near other stops then. Today was actually my first day going out playing it properly since I had Covid so I didn't even follow any routes as I was taking it easy.

Tbh my three most local pubs aren't actually stops themselves as they're beside lots of other ones so I could definitely get away with a route between those three. Grin

Hi all - new to the thread, a year and some old on pogo.

Anyone know what's the deal with route approval? I submitted 3 so far, two were accepted within the hour and the middle one is still pending some 3 weeks on. Will it ever come through or is it just lost in the ether now? I'm going with short routes as I'm less likely to lose interest and miss the zygarde cells. Slow work though, i have about 15 so far.

I think I'm liking the current season. Lots of long term goals to be getting on with. Oh and the massive amount of catch xp and stardust isn't hurting any.

Route approval seems to be all over the place at the moment, some are being approved really quickly, others can take weeks. I think the volume of submissions might have caught them unprepared.

Yay, sounds perfect.

SockQueen · 17/09/2023 11:56

I'm due to level up with a few players who I think are on here:

susamax
RosiePerissa
Unicorngirlsooz
WiggleyWuggles
Beckywithers

I'm going to have an egg on at 2pm today if that works for you? Shout if you'd rather a different time!

Tarkan · 17/09/2023 12:03

I'm unicorngirlsooz. 2pm works for me, I'll stick an egg on then as well.

ISaySteadyOn · 18/09/2023 06:58

On checking this morning, I can now create routes. I am excited to try.

Also, the master ball research is pretty hard especially the 120 excellent throws task, I think.

Tarkan · 18/09/2023 07:06

I'm doing well with the excellent throws, up to 72/120. It's the 60 raids that I'll fail on. I've done one.

I'm going to give it a try but I'll have to hope for lots of nearby level one raids tbh so I can just do them myself. But I'm out the house so rarely that I just don't know if I'll get enough.

KevinAndHerKits · 18/09/2023 08:10

Excellent throws is the one I'm going to struggle with. I'll finish the raids with a month to spare at this rate, and the only other one left is the Field Research which I'm 2/3 of the way through, but I'll still be whittling away at the Excellents up until the last couple of days unless I get a lot better.

eurochick · 18/09/2023 08:43

I'm struggling with raids too. There are none near where I live and when I am in the London office where there are plenty, I am usually to busy to pop out and do them. I'm on track with everything else though.

SocksAndTheCity · 18/09/2023 08:44

I got the excellent throws done fairly quickly, but the sixty raids are going to be a pain because I don't have time to get out that much and the remote raid passes are too expensive for me now. I think I've done about a quarter of them plus I have eight more eggs to hatch and thirty or so more Field Researches to do.

I'll do it OK, but I think I'll need to set an afternoon or two aside to do multiple raids and just use up some premium passes.

gillybean2 · 18/09/2023 10:10

I’m all done apart from the raids. Only using my free passes for those so at one a day I should make it. Have temporarily moved out of home due to building works so having to actively go find raids now where we are staying.

Although I live very rurally, at home I live between two gyms and have 4 more within a 2min drive (thanks to ds who submits loads or ingress portals) so can usually find a raid when it suits me. Not used to having to actively go out to spin for items either, usually just do that for gifts and let the go plus+ pick up items by auto spinning the home gyms. Have 500 spaces in my bag currently when I’m generally struggling with a full bag.

For those struggling with excellent throws there’s usually at least one Pokemon that’s easier to land an excellent on whatever the current pool is. Work out which it is for you and focus on catching that. It was furfou when it first came out. Not sure what it is right now as I’m back to using the autocatcher…

thirdfiddle · 18/09/2023 11:44

The piggy one is the easiest excellent in the current pool I think. Raids is the one I have left too, saving some premium passes for suicune/entei/raikou so that should catch me up.

That's what I was thinking - I don't really want to use mine on Genesect and nothing else is grabbing much.

Of the current pokémons spawning I'd say Girafarig, Hitmontop and for some reason Sprigatito have been the most reliable for excellent throws, although I ran into a couple of wild Blisseys early on and managed to get about a dozen in between the two before they ran away. I've seen a few Mr Mimes in the last couple of days too.

PickAChew · 18/09/2023 12:38

It's the raids that are going slowly for me, too. I already have burn drive genesect so won't be using remote passes on that one! I went out with DS1 twice, last week, when the bonuses were really motivating, and the raids were few and far between. The ready button is useful, though - so long as I have both my main and alt account open, I can make use of it if I land on a raid at a bus stop! (Annoying that you can't use it if raiding solo, even for 1 star raids)

Tarkan · 18/09/2023 12:45

I've had another 10 excellent throws since this morning. It's a mixture of nanab berries, curveballs, patience and luck for me really.

The Pokémon I've had excellent throws on today have been Eevee, Hitmontop, Pikachu, Pidgey, Deerling x 2, Smeargle, Bounsweet and Cubchoo x 2 so a whole range. I even managed one on a Scatterbug the other day.

gillybean2 · 18/09/2023 13:06

All these excellent throws will be good practise for the level 50 challenge for those still working your way there. 5 excellent throws in a row was bloody frustrating quite tricky…

Tarkan · 18/09/2023 13:42

In a row is my downfall. I find a lot of legendaries are easier to get excellent throws on so I eventually get the in a row ones after a few of those.

thirdfiddle · 18/09/2023 15:37

In a row! I think just the fact of aiming for it will majorly put me off. I usually have a good hit rate, but even 5 nice in a row I screw up. 5 excellent in a row can wait till a wailmer spotlight hour or something! It'll be a while anyway, only L46 so far. Spotlight hours/community days can be quite good for excellents too as you can practice on the same pokemon till you get the knack of it. I got loads on the charmander day.

WarmSausageTea · 18/09/2023 19:11

Not sure if anyone wants the aeroplane mode trick for x throws in a row task; it’s a bit of a cheat, but not a massive one, more of a workaround. Anyway, for those interested…

Tap on the mon, select berry and ball type, but don’t throw.
Put your phone into aeroplane mode.
Make the throw.
If the throw is great/excellent/what the task needs, turn aeroplane mode off and go back into the game.
If the throw isn’t what you need, close the game, then turn off aeroplane mode, and reopen the game.
