Yes, absolutely. The only things I am after are a black cosmos or a purple windflower if you happen to have either spare. But don't worry if you don't

I think purple windflowers come from two blue rather than two red, just so you know

I have black cosmos, so will bring over tomorrow. I don’t have purple windflowers, still trying to get them! How will I get the cosmos to you, can I just plant it on your island? I’m not sure what I can and can’t do on other peoples islands.

For anyone here just trying to find where Celeste has gone - she was on the beach a little while ago when went to open airport but she seems to have moved...

@JLbaby you can only dig up flowers at best friends' islands but you can plant flowers anywhere when you're visiting even on a dodo code

According to the gamespot article (which i have found generally accurate) you get them like this (so you were both kind of right, it’s blue but from the hybrid red rather ‘normal’ blue):

Windflowers

Windflowers are slightly weird in that they don't have a yellow version; instead, orange is a default rather than a hybrid. While not nearly as complex as roses, getting the rare purple windflower does require a bit of effort. Your chances go up to 25% if you use island hybrids or special blues.

Basic combos:

red + orange = pink
white + white = blue
red + blue = hybrid red (100%)
pink + blue = hybrid red (25%)
pink + blue = special pink (25%)
Best combos for purple windflowers:

hybrid red + hybrid red = special blue (half of the blue offspring)
To test the blues, breed them together. Special blues produce pinks half the time, while normal ones will only produce oranges.
special blue + special blue = purple

I have native windflowers and have a couple of accidental purples, I didn’t realise they were rare! I’ll hVe to get breeding them
