Recommend me Switch games please

According to my Xbox loving son I'm having a mid life crisis 😂 have been looking at ordering a switch since Xmas and finally found one in stock at sensible price so collecting it Thursday with Ring fit.
Have some vouchers left so thought I'd get a Mario game or possibly Zelda but baffled!
Used to play Mario on wii but there's a lot more options now so not sure where to start.
All other game recommendations welcome, mostly be myself and dd14 playing but ds may play occasionally.

Zelda Breath of the Wild is the best game ever!

Well two days in and Ring Fit and Mario Odyssey are hits, Mario is slightly frustrating as two player but I'm enjoying it on my own and Ring Fit feels like a really fun work out. Ds has enjoyed both and it was nice to do together instead of him in room on Xbox.
Think Zelda might be next and debating Animal crossing, h ave noted all the others to work through.

Mario Odyssey is just amazing!
Overcooked is a good multiplayer (though my poor children spend most of their time groaning as I throw yet another prepared ingredient into the bin, rather than onto a plate! )

Animal Crossing is v pretty, but it's a time vampire, so avoid!

Mario cart all four of us play it together and it's actually got my 12yr old ds who has asd talking more which is great. Even if it's only to say how bad I am.

We have a carnival game too which is fun.

They have Animal Crossing but never play it because they find it boring.

I'm hooked on Tetris which is free and takes me back to my youth.

Zelda is phenomenol, it's single player but still fun to have one watching and suggesting things.

Animal crossing is good but I rarely play it now my island is done and I have all the furniture and variations

I play Splatoon 2 a lot, there are always people online to play with, the only downside is that if you want 2 couch players you need two switches and 2 copies of the game.

Definitely agree with Zelda being fun to watch - DP would be playing for 3 hours and I wouldn’t have even noticed that I hadn’t had a go because I’d been having so much fun just watching!

If you like BOTW you'll also probably enjoy Immortals Fenyx Rising - such good fun, massive open world game with puzzles and combat and beautiful looking too.

Immortals: Fenix Rising has all of my attention right now. I actually find it more fun than zelda, although zelda is objectively a better game. It's set in an island where all of the greek gods have been overwhelmed by a bad guy and you have to help them defeat him. It's very fun and very odyssey-esque. Theres new content coming out soon with Chinese gods too which I'm very excited for

My favourites are animal crossing, Mario kart and good old Tetris

Don’t rule out the Lego games, they are quite good fun to play and have lots to do.

We have
Lego city, Lego Harry Potter and Lego Jurassic world, and have only finished city so far (I say finished - do has finished the storyline, but there is still a lot to complete in terms of gold bricks, characters to find etc). Dd & I play the Harry Potter one, and we are up to Order of the Phoenix.

MarioKart is good fun too, has had lots of gameplay here.

Animal crossing and Pokémon are both favourites with ds. I play animal crossing (really sucks you in) but can’t get on with Pokémon Sword (I did like Let’s go, though)

Mario Bros U has been fun, and Mario party.

As a single player I have enjoyed a really cheap game I got on the eshop - Hue. Was only 99p, I think. It obviously can’t compare with the likes of Mario or Zelda, but it has been fun to play through, and quite engaging. It’s worth looking through and finding a few of these gems, there are regular sales which bring a lot of them down to pennies. Astro bears is another one - we all still play that occasionally,, and it cost me 79p a couple of years ago!

I strongly suggest you play The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild! It is the best!

Mario kart just announced 8 new tracks yesterday with another 40 being planned for releass
