Help! Ds asked Santa for a wireless Xbox headset..

...but as far as I can see you can’t get wireless headsets for Xbox one? He specified a particular one but when I’ve looked it up it clearly says it is not for an Xbox. Am I just not understanding or does he want something impossible? Thank you

There are loads of wireless head sets. They are made by 3rd party companies. Just google and it will throw you plenty.

Hohocabbage · 09/12/2018 01:06

Thank you both. I’m still a bit lost though - the Argos one linked to says this in the description “For Xbox ONE connection - wireless compatible for audio only, if you wish to chat online with friends, the 3.5mm connection (included) is needed“
Pretty sure he is wanting to use the mic so it wouldn’t really be wireless. Obviously I will read through others but it would be great if anyone is actually using a wireless headset with their Xbox?

Watching with interest, DS wants this too but I haven't sought any out yet.

Turtle Beach is a good brand though.

Bumping for the morning crowd! It’s really hard to bring it up with ds as he still thinks Santa does it all. Xmas Sad

Just google wireless headsets Xbox. I did this for my ds who wanted one for a Nintendo switch. We got a Logitech one which has a microphone. I found a website with reviews.

CrystalMethHog · 09/12/2018 20:50

Sounds like he knows what he wants. Can Santa not call the house phone and ask him which one it was because he couldn't find one? I've called Father Christmas at least 5 times in the past week 😂

Believeitornot · 09/12/2018 20:53

So just did some digging - not sure of the answer. The Nintendo switch doesn’t have Bluetooth so I had to buy Bluetooth headset and plug the usb adapter into the switch and do it that way.

Hohocabbage · 09/12/2018 20:54

Thanks believeitornot
I’ve been coming up with comments when I google that the Xbox one does not have Bluetooth functionality, but I suspect now I’m looking for WiFi rather than Bluetooth. Hmm. Googling does bring up lots of places that sell headsets but when you click on them they are not necessarily wireless or suitable for the Xbox! Ds gave me a very precise one to buy but when checking it it clearly says not suitable for Xbox.

I love it Crystalmeth! Don’t think my acting powers are up to it though. And he’s 11 Xmas Blush

Another vote for turtle beach. I'm around a lot of gamers, and they all exclusively use turtle beach headsets.
Plus they last for ages. One of the guys bought a different brand (cheaper) and they conked out after six months. The rest of them got years out of the turtle beach ones.

They tend to drop the prices in Argos the week before Xmas.

CrystalMethHog · 09/12/2018 21:50

I've got a degree in drama, I'm thinking of setting up a Santa hotline. My Ho Ho Ho's are enviable i tell ya!

Fluffywuffyunicorn · 09/12/2018 22:16

Which one does he want? Maybe someone will be able to find a similar one.

These are wireless for the Xbox One.

Honestly, I wouldn’t get wireless ones. Unless you are happy to spend £160+ on them, wireless ones are often worse than cheaper wired ones, as you lose audio quality to make up for the wireless being powered, and you have to remember to charge them. Xbox One headsets plug directly into the controller so the wire isn’t a huge issue, I use a wired headset all the time. If you get wired, Turtle Beach X0 One or X0 Three are very good.
If you have to get wireless, stay with Turtle Beach, they’re the best brand (unless you fork out hundreds and get Astros or similar)

Fluffywuffyunicorn · 09/12/2018 22:32

2 separate links there.

Hohocabbage · 10/12/2018 09:51

Thanks for all the info. Flowers No idea why wireless is so important. Think I’ll keep an eye on the turtle beach and see the best price I can get. Or talk him into a wired one for sound quality. Santa May have to leave him a note!
