Draconius Go - Who's playing ?

I thought it was about time we had a thread for those playing the new Draconius Go game.
It's been mentioned a few times on the Pokemon thread but rather than take that over, let's have our own shiny new thread.

I only started today after seeing so many positive recommendations online (including MN).

My initial thoughts are that it is MUCH better for those of us living in the countryside as Pillars of Abundance (what an awful title) are everywhere unlike Pokestops which I found very difficult to get to. There are also more Arenas (Gyms) plus the added interest of Libraries, Obelisks, Portals etc.

I'm not quite convinced by the creatures yet though but that's probably just because my DSs grew up with the original Pokemon and I was 'forced' to learn them all off by heart.

I've already managed to put a couple of creatures into arenas, both of which were empty and presumably had never been used yet.

So who else is playing ?

Well, I'm afraid I'm already starting to get a bit bored of D-Go.

I've been in the nearest town today and there was very little to do there -
the spawn rate seems very low and there were very, very few arenas.

I switched back to Po-Go and stocked up on balls instead.

Well this has fucking pissed me off- I level up to level 15 and had all of my creatures returned from the arenas back to me. We spent hours yesterday walking all over the place putting creatures into arenas.

Does anyone know what runes are for? I have over 20 now but don't know what to do with them.

Not a notion, I tried to find a guide similar to the Pokemon go one but the only one I found was so badly written I gave up on it.

Runes are for casting spells. You get one spell at the start of the games and can collect more from completing quests.

Oooh. I've just spotted a Portal open up near me. Hope to get out to explore it this afternoon. Anyone else used one yet ? Not quite sure what to expect.

The portals are good, different creatures and stops on different places.
Look for the mother of dragons and leave an ancient egg with her to hatch.

I've been in s couple but either not seen her or not been able to get to her.

I don't think many people are playing near me after all. Most of the arenas I've come across are empty except for one.

I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing and I'm mostly playing because DS loves catching the monsters.

I am on level 15 and also annoyed all creatures returned . I don’t get libraries either . Changed an attack but no real idea why . It’s nice to see new things though

Yes, I'm still getting to grips with it all. I messed up this morning and put a low level frogus in a library thinking it was an arena! As far as I can work out he now has to stay there for 5 days then I will be able to change his moveset which is pretty pointless when I shall probably bin him anyway! Oops learning curve! I also tried battling someone in a library and nothing seemed to happen except I got some xp for winning. The creature stayed there. I wasn't sure if I had to beat him more than once?!

With the runes I have discovered that if you click on the magic icon you can then convert low level runes into high level ones so they take up less room in your bag.

It’s actually fine to put low level creatures in libraries. The more libraries you are in the quicker the timer goes down. You can then retrain any creature you have, not necessarily one in a library. I’ve done it once just to try it out. I managed to get my egg to a MOD today and hatched a 1400cp morgoroth. My best beast so far. I love the way pillars change places in a rift. I’ve stayed in all evening as it placed two right by my house so I can stock up on balls!

Does anyone know why my coin pay out has changed overnight? I was set to receive 61 coins when my timer runs out this morning. But now it has dropped to 43?! No one has been knocked out. 43 coins for 7 arenas - that's rubbish!!

My walking isn't registering on this today, useless school run! Didn't notice til I got back. I can tell it's still not working because the usual really good gps drift isn't registering anything either. (I could easily leave it on the side and hatch a 2km usually).

My gps drift walking isn't registering either. Maybe they have 'fixed' it along with changing arena payouts. Hate it when they change things in games.

Is the max time you can leave a creature in an arena a week?

I had one in an arena near my house it suddenly shows as vacant and my monster hasn't been defeated, it's just abandoned ship and come home!

I've had a good play today. I went through a portal and used one of the seeing things to gather up lots of new creatures while I was through it and have levelled up to level 8.

I also had a go at hunting for the golden egg (started a few days ago). I think I've used up all my shovels and didn't find it which could be awkward for future quests. It's hard to find enough accessible obelisks to collect all the map pieces as some features are right in the middle of arable fields with no legal/ practical access and others down a 60mph road.

I need to remember to collect coins daily.

I think the game has potential. I feel less tied in to particular routes like pokemon because the pillars are more evenly distributed, and the different quests should keep it more fresh whereas po go relies heavily on events to relieve the monotony of grinding. I miss the convenience of my po go plus with it though- and the battery saving benefits!

Yes they get kicked out after a week. It's extremely annoying. It's also annoying to be kicked out after levelling up.

I was kicked out of arenas when I levelled up to 15 but put my creatures back in. I’ve currently got 13 in although it only registers 10 for coins. Some of them have definitely been in over a week.

I currently have 9 monsters in arenas but hate that you can't work out which is where ( if that makes sense). The names are just nonsensical and un-memorable. I appreciate that as they aren't based in local landmarks like PoGo, they are harder to identify, but still find it frustrating.
Having said that, I'm still playing and slowly filling up my Bestiary.

I do like the way you get coins every day that you have monsters in arenas, unlike PoGo where I could have 5 Pokemon in gyms but if they all come home the same day, still only get 50 coins.

I agree *greenshadow I went to put a creature in an arena today only to find I was in it already. I have completely lost track of which arenas I'm in where. I also don't understand the coin system. I am in 12 arenas and due to get 70 coins 2moro. But that's less than 6 coins per arena?

You can only claim coins for a max of 10 arenas tumpy hence the 70 coins.

Thanks greenshadow. For anyone that has done the treasure hunt am I right in thinking that once you work out where the map is you have to physically actually go to those roads before you use s shovel? And then when you want to dig in the next square do you actually have to physically move a few streets away?

Yes, you have to physically be in the map square before using a shovel. The square turns yellow when you are in the right place , it then scores it out in red so you know not to search there again.
